Quest For Mathstopia
Quest for mathstopia is an educational game designed around teaching kids their times tables through a fun adventure through space in search of the illusive paradise planet of Mathstopia.
The idea is for this to feel more like a videogame than revision allowing kids to have fun while also revising their times tables. By making it fun it is also more effective at teaching kids their tables since they will be more engaged than if they were just writing lines in a text book.
To play you just need to move your character on to the platform with the correct answer to the question asked in order to charge the battery of your spaceship or deal damage during an action sequence. From there you'll get to explore a fictional solar system, discovering and naming planets along with earning coins for your discoveries that can be spent in the shop to customise the look of your character and spaceship.
The difficulty of the game is completely modifiable allowing you or your child to change the difficulty of the game depending on their knowledge of multiplication or division. You are also able to enable and disable certain tables allowing for focused revision on a few tables.
With thousands of player and spaceship customisations, a solar system of over 40 nameable planets and many opposing forces to fend of there will be plenty to keep you or your child busy.
Recommended for all ages however designed for young kids first learning how to multiply. Could be helpful for any teachers looking a new way to help your class revise multiplication and division.
Developer note: I don't know if this convinces you to try it but over the time I spent developing this game I have gotten noticeably faster at answering multiplication or division questions. Also the mobile version is free with optional adds enabled although the pc version is only $2 and I would really appreciate the support.
!Heads up if playing the newly added browser version, you may have to use full screen to be able to see the game view properly. Also another problem found was that you have to manually go into the setting and turn up the music volume as well as enable music in game!
